Ice Fishing

I've never been ice fishing.  Dan goes in the winter a few times every year.  The boys are always asking if they can go ice fishing but until now we've never taken them.  Some friends of ours wanted to go out to Pelican lake so we decided to join them.
These pictures actually happened last, after the ice fishing was done.  Landon looks like a giant marshmallow.  Dalin is just chillin', and Braden is just happy to be there in the warm car.
Look how dirty he got.
Riding in the ice fishing sled with all the gear.

You can tell in was a fairly foggy day.  You couldn't really see very far.  The inversion settled in and just didn't want to leave.  You could just feel the moisture in the air.

Keeping the ice out of the hole.  It would freeze over after a few minutes if you walked away.  Our friends the Wallaces have two kids.  On the left is Cole who is Braden's age, Landon, Braden and Dalin.  I kept telling them not to get wet or they would get really cold, but that's like telling a baby not to cry.

Landon and his little buddy Avery.  They have become good little friends.  She is a year older than he is.

And their good dog Ace.  I like how Landon is looking at him in this picture and Avery is totally cheesing it.
The fog cleared a little, but never went away.

My good friend Leisa and I.

Dad took over the pole so Landon could have a snack.

All the kids huddled in a sled watching a movie and trying to keep warm.  We had a lot of fun even though their little hands got so cold.  Water and little hands in the winter is not a good mix.
