More Teeth Gone

This kid loses teeth all at once.  Within two days of each other he lost two more bottom teeth.

Summer Good Stuff

South Ogden Days parade is always a fun one.  They throw out tons of candy, but the floats aren't really floats at all.  It's mostly cars and trucks with an advertisement for some company or another, but we still have fun.

Waiting....
Still waiting, something might be coming.
This little turd is handsome in blue.
All the cousins lined up. We always have to take at least 50 of these to make sure everyone is included and looking at the camera.  Most of the time we fail, and one or more kids is bawling or looking off into space.
This one's a little better.  The kids from left to right are: Braden, Dalin, Casidy, Kyla, Leah, Aubrey, Linkin, Landon, Korbin, Carter, Makayla, Daxton, and Bailey.
These two have fun together.  They for sure have a love/hate relationship and get on each other's nerves pretty well, but they also have a lot of fun playing together and hanging out together.
Look how good lookin' these two are!
These three play well together most of the time.  Leah, Aubrey, and Landon.
Then we spent some time at my uncle Raymond's pool.  Boys love to swim.
We also went to the Dinosaur Park for little cousin Carter's birthday, but my camera died and I only got two pictures.

Some friends of Anne (Dan's mum) who live just down the road from her invited us over to her house so the kids could swim. She has a huge yard and got this great big blow up water slide for her grandkids.  They had a ton of fun.

Goof offs.  They were "surfing" and trying to knock each other off the tubes; a game I remember well as a kid.

Kids' Canal

Summer seems to always go by way too fast.  I like to take advantage of every moment before we get back into the school of craziness.  There is this place in Vernal, not too far from our house, where the canal runs.  They have created a nice little path running along side it.  It's just nice.  Such a little thing, and yet so much fun.  No need to pay for using a pool, just good outdoor fun.  The boys played here for hours, and I got a good book read.  We all loved it.  We need more of this.

Dalin found some treasure or another and had to show it to me.  And insisted I take a picture as well.
I still can't tell what it is.

They have to explore EVERYTHING>  Such little scientists.
Pictures like this make me swoon.  I realize I'm one of the luckiest people on the planet.

Kids' Fishing Day at Jones Hole

Jones Hole is a fish hatchery that we have been to several times.  It's a favorite spot of Dan's.  Dan is also the chapter president of  Trout Unlimited, a nationwide conservation group.  The hatchery and TU got together and had a kids' fishing day.  They educated people and kids and then the kids got to fish.  Each kid was allowed to keep two fish if they wanted to.  Our kids love to fish and since Dan was there running his little booth we all headed up to do some fishing.

The boys each caught a lot of fish.  This kind of thing gets them excited about fishing since you're not always so successful fishing in the wild.  Dan deplores power bait and worms.  He thinks it's a sport and creating and then using the right lure or fly is the only way to fish properly.
There was one "really huge" fish Braden desperately tried to catch all day.  He never did get it.

Landon's fish on ice.  He was so proud of himself.
Braden was also very proud and claimed his was the prettiest.
Dalin had a ton of fun and, for the most part, needed very little help.  He had his pole, tied on his hook and was off.
That night we had fish for dinner.

Fantasy Canyon

I've wanted to go to Fantasy Canyon ever since we moved to Vernal.  We just never got around to it.  Luckily when family comes to visit we get to enjoy some time together and we get out and about.  My brother Ryan's family and my parents all came down and we tried our best to cram a bunch of stuff in in the short time we had.  Fantasy Canyon did not disappoint.  What a really great place to visit.

It's not a huge place but pretty amazing just the same.
The rock formations are just crazy.  These two.....

It seems fitting these would be in the middle of dinosaur land.  They seem to just fit right in.

You can climb all over the structures.  They look frail but they most certainly are not.  If you fell it would tear you to pieces, like sandpaper and granite put together.
Linkin and grandma.  Linkin and I bonded on this trip.  You want this kid to like you?  Go find some rocks. He really likes rocks.

I'm glad we get a chance to show our kids some of this world.  They realy had a blast with their cousins and grandparents.

Just Hangin' Out

One of the things I love about summer is watermelon.  So good.  I think all of my kids will agree. As summer approaches we are getting excited for warm weather and summer fruits to be is season.  Our landlord wants to chop down this apple tree.  Dan asked him if we could build a tree house in it since it's coming down anyway and he said yes.  So Dan got a bunch of logs that have been hanging out all winter long and nailed them to the tree so they would stay in place.  It's a work in progress at this point, but the kids seems to really have fun with it.  Landon will just hang out up there.  I like that it's not too high up so if they fall it's just a short drop to the grass.  Dan even put in little stairs all the way up so it's easy to access.

Sometimes we have neighbors and friends join us too.  All the kids spend a lot of time up there so it turned out to be a fun project.  These are our neighbor girls Joy and Gretel.
