Wheeler Farm

O.k. this all took place the end of June, so I'm catching up...hahaha.  Hopefully I'll catch up soon and be more current. 

First of all my mom was able to come a stay with us for a few days, which was fun and nice.  She had to go to some classes for work during the day, but was back at our place by 3:30.  She and Dalin read a bunch of books.  Actually he read to her.  He's into these "Shoo Fly Guy" books.  He thinks they're hilarious. 

While Dalin read to my mom Dan came home a little early and decided to grab a salad with tuna and Italian dressing.  Not my favorite combination, but Landon, who never misses an opportunity to eat, sat down right in front of Dan and kept pointing at the salad and saying "more, more, more".  Dan finally gave him a shred of lettuce thinking he'd spit it out and be done, but Landon loved it and ate half the bowl.  He was like a little baby bird holding his mouth open so Dan would shovel it in.

Then, on Friday, my mom headed home, but we went up that way with her to spend the 4th of July with Dan's folks. 

On the way we stopped at wheeler farm.  What a great place.  It was HOT, but the boys loved it.  Here is Braden and Landon watching the cow eat.  Landon particularly liked it because he's just learning all his animals and their sounds.  

Checking out the goats.  Landon would reach his arm in to pet it and if it moved or made any noise he would jump back and then look at me to make sure it was o.k.

Dalin LOVES horses and really wants one for a pet.  Every kid has to go through this stage at some point in their life, don't they?  

Of course another highlight is that they have all these really old tractors all over for kids to climb on.  Boys being boys love tractors.  In fact this is another of Landon's most favorite things in the whole wide world right now.  None of them wanted to take turns with this one, so grandma Sylvia just piled them all on.

Grandma Sylvia was nice and let them choose a wagon ride or milking a cow.  They all chose a wagon ride, pulled my a real tractor of course.

I think one the funnest part was the pigs.  When we first got there they were all up in the pen.  When my mom kind of called to them they all came out and interacted with the kids a bunch.  They rolled around in this tub of water to cool off and snorted and sniffed.  They really had cute little personalities, even if they did smell terrible.  They farm guy came over to feed them while we were there and he told us these pigs had been raised here so they were very social and used to kids and people, and in fact seem to really enjoy it when people come to see them.
