He's Three!

Landon turned three on February 27 and I just can't believe how big he is.  He wanted a Cars cake.  Cars 2 and Mator's Tall Tales are his favorite movies of all time.  So here's his cake.  He even helped me make it, as you can tell.  He helped spread the frosting and Oreos and put the cars on and drove them around.  So his little cake looked a little beat up, but he loved it and that was the point.

I usually make pancakes shaped in the number of their years, but woke up and realized I was out of pancake mix and syrup so he got oatmeal with candles in it instead.  He didn't want to blow the candles out because he likes fire.

I finally coaxed him into blowing them out.  Notice his tote full of cars?  They go everywhere with him.
We had a few of his friends over to play after Braden got on the bus.  Here are some cute girls from just down the road, Aaliya and Avery.  I've probably spelled their names wrong.
We sang happy birthday and then for some reason he got all shy and wouldn't blow out his candles in front of everyone.
So we gathered all his friends to help him.  From left to right: Dallan, Richard, Avery, and Aaliya.
One, two, three and they all blew them out....except Landon of course.
Then we cut the cake.
They were all very particular about which piece they wanted.  So cute at that age.

That sure is yummy cake.
Later that night after everyone got home he finally got to open his presents.
I really like this picture.

And he's off, tearing into his first present.
And second....
and third.

A big thank you to everyone for his great gifts.  He really did have a great birthday!  Here are some things about Landon.
1. He's definitely the youngest and still wants me to carry him everywhere.
2. We're at the point of cutting off naps.  Sometimes he still really needs one, but other days we got without.  This mamma is excited about not being held slave to nap time anymore.
3. He can't get enough of his toy cars.  He absolutely loves them.
4. This kid is a bruiser.  He thinks he's eight and holds his own when wrestling with his brothers.
5. He can be a bit wild sometimes, especially during Sacrament meeting.
6. He wants to got for a walk and/or bike ride every day.  He really enjoys his big wheel.
7. He is a great eater.  There's not much he doesn't like.
8.  When he's tired watch out!  He can be a bear.  Most of the time when he's really tired he'll put himself to sleep.  He's say "I want to take a nap" go up to his room and put himself to sleep.
9.  He's become a puzzle addict.  He's really good at them too.
10. He has the most mischievous smile and beautiful eyes.  Love this kid to bits.
